As a response to Durham County’s MWBE Disparity Study Report, the County has partnered with the NC Institute of Minority Economic Development (NCIMED) to assist the County in providing a range of resources to MWBE firms.
The Institute’s Construction Resource Centers offer services and support to help small, minority, and women-owned businesses identify and compete for construction-related projects.
Types of assistance provided:
- Construction plan rooms, where you can review and copy construction plans for current projects and use our estimating software to prepare your bid.
- An online database of current bid opportunities.
- Certification and pre-qualification assistance.
- Training and workshops on industry-specific topics, business management and operations.
- Loan and bonding resources.
- Networking opportunities.
Many of these services are available at no cost; others at low or discounted rates.
