Becoming a Certified Firm

Certification provides greater exposure to procurement and contracting:

  • You can bid on formal and informal County contracts
  • Your company’s information is included in the County’s Vendor List
  • You will receive more frequent notices of contracting opportunities
  • You can participate in networking events and learning opportunities
  • You can receive business and technical assistance

To become certified, you will need to register your company’s information on Vendor Link NC, through the State’s Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) website:

  1. Access HUB Office website.
  2. Select “Certification” and then select “Request HUB Certification”.
  3. Then select “Vendor Registration” and follow the instructions.

This vendor registration can only be done electronically with a computer device and valid e-mail address.  If you do not have a valid e-mail address, there are many free e-mail hosts (ie Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.) that you could use.

If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the HUB office at 919-807-2330 and speak with one of the certification specialists.
